Captain Crazy Pants
Our Commander-in-Chief
Donald John Trump is a corrupt businessman with a lucrative side gig as the 47th president of these barely United States. On 24 Feb 26, he will deliver his view of the state of our nation to anyone who will listen.
Opinions other than his abound.
By any metric honestly taken and accurately reported, the state of our nation is worse than when Donny the Disrupter took office on 20 Jan 25.
His conduct during the first year of his second term in high office is open to criticism.
He started selling access to American treasure, heritage, policy, and secrets as soon as the results of Election 2024 were announced.
For ten long years, Donny the Duplicitous has claimed to be a seasoned and successful businessman who could reverse the carnage of which the Great Replacement Theory warns. He alone can Make America Great Again. Golly, will that be any time soon?
He has yet to make any real and substantive improvements to the lives, liberties, health, security, and general well-being of the persons his administration governs. He is a self-deluded and woefully inadequate legend in his own unbalanced mind.
In the first year of his second stint behind the Resolute Desk, he declared nine new national emergencies. These were the platforms for exercising unsupervised executive actions of wide-ranging consequence, gleeful cruelty, clear self-enrichment, and dubious legality. He abused those purloined powers so badly that:
1. Tariffs:
a. Our trade partners are cancelling promises made under duress of TACO tariffs and creating new alliances that exclude us; and,
b. A partisan Supreme Court ruled against his abuse of constitutional powers related to taxation.
He is undeterred. He is doubling down with whatever means he can find or invent to continue his game of Three Card Monty Money.
2. Immigration:
a. The governed in proximity to aggressive ICE and Border Patrol enforcement operations are resisting armed and masked agents when, where, and as they confront persons targeted for arrest, detention, and deportation based on skin color;
b. Owners of real estate desired for inclusion in a vast network of detention centers are refusing to sell; and,
c. State and local governments are refusing to agree to support deportation quotas.
3. Foreign Policy:
a. The conceptual “Peace Plans” for regional conflicts to which America is an interferring third party in search of a good return on real estate redevelopment schemes are not working:
1.) Hamas has not disarmed; and,
2.) Israel is pulling America into a war with Iran in which Russia and China have vested interests.
b. Greenland is not for sale and does not need emergency medical support;
c. Canada has become the voice of the free world;
d. Ukraine is the poster child for courage, innovation, and sacrifice as Russia continues to assault its sovereignty by invading and occupying its territory in clear violation of the terms of the Budapest Memoranda of 1994; and,
e. Venezuela is missing a leader to resist plunder of its oil reserves.
4. National Security:
When he is not sharing intelligence secrets with our avowed and instant enemies, Admiral Bone Spurs marries Epstein file distractions to opportunites for fiscal enrichment. He has just about as much grasp of sound military strategy as a boy playing with toys in his bathtub. For example, the South China Sea is left open for misadventure when American oversight assets are shipped to the Carribbean or the Mediterranean in service to his (self-serving) power play of the moment.
5. Domestic Tranqulity: Parts of the government are closed, pending some correction to ICE operations.
Whether the closure is kabuki theatre or a defining moment in American politics remains to be seen. Election 2026 will tell the immediate tale. What will not work for either party is a partisan blame game. Human rights, constitutional protections, and crimes against humanity are serious issues on the table. Oh, and whether constituents will fire current office holders unconcerned about the opinion and welfare of those persons they are bound by oath to represent fairly and faithfully.
Meditation
Donald John Trump returned to high office with dirty hands and a burr up his butt. He has made a hash of every opportunity other than those burnishing his brand. Some good portion (3 out of 5) of We the People are beyond stunned or aghast at his lawless and egocentric ideas and endless grifts. The powers that support his dangerous and deplorable attitudes and actions can and will abandon him when they are exposed and/or inconvenienced by the resistance of We the People to the implementation of the Project 2025 playbook.
Mandate
It is the nature of all life on this beautiful and fierce planet Earth to struggle to survive. At minimum.
We the People are comprised of individuals. Each of us is blessed with an inalienable Power of One. Aspiration is as natural and necessary as breath. Each of us cannot help but to wish, to strive to be safe. To prevail.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness may be negotiable. They never cease as primary objectives.
Government of the people, by the people and for the people requires We the People to continue to use the power of our persons and our purses to demand respect for and compliance with the plain face wording of:
The Declaration of Independence;
The Constitution of the United States;
All amendments; and,
Supporting legislation and customs in place on 19 January 2025.
Together, we are invincible.
While the Tyrant Trump continues his sad, stale show of distraction, abuse of power, lack of morality, and dereliction of duty at home and abroad, let us covenant to remain present, loud, persistent, and purposeful.
Deny ICE further funding and claw back any unspent portions of money previously appropriated by the 119th congress;
Provide immediate, adequate, and continuing support for Ukraine’s fight to evict Russia from territory invaded and occupied since 2014;
Kill the SAVE bill; and,
Provide funding for the health, welfare, and security of the governed.
Let us covenant to remember ourselves well. Let Resistance 2.0 continue to:
Build understanding and solidarity;
Keep our message and our persons on the streets, on the overpasses, and in court;
Use our purses to punish DEI deniers;
Demand legislative responsiveness and integrity; and,
Energize friends, acquaintances, and passing motorists to want to protect their right and exercise the privilege of their vote for their own protection and benefit up and down the Election 2026 ballot.
Let us protest until we prevail.
Go, team, go.

Excellent post and love the title. My husband and I call him Turnip when we have conversations about him--even though that's kind of an insult to a yummy veggie.
Excellent summary of the State of the Nation. Glad I read this and a book instead of turning on the TV yesterday. Everyone who cares about this country and their neighbors needs to stick to their plan to make sure they have all the extra paperwork in order to continue voting, plus a plan to make sure their ballot is counted. Right. It's more work than we ever did before to protect the right to vote and team Trump is counting on us to step back, step away, instead of marching forward. Steady. Sure. Every day. Forward.
