I have a reasonably intelligent, calm, and topically relevant post in the works.
I also have a dental appointment in 5 days that will require a significant deposit for forthcoming work. I hate embarrassing myself at all. I also do not want to burden strangers with my fiscal shortcomings at the checkout line. Accordingly, I needed to make sure my check would not bounce.
I am fortunate enough to have a small holding in the stock market.
I am even more blessed to have a broker who answers the telephone when I dial his number.
Realize this dear young man has a client base which is losing its mind over stock market losses related to the Mad King’s most recent “transactional” approach to protecting and nurturing American businesses. I could hear telephones screaming for his attention in the background.
Yet, he took a moment to assure me that I had the funds needed and immediately available.
I asked “Whaddaya think?’ about the global economic tumult now unfolding. He had an intelligent and immediate response. The part I loved, and now would share with you, is when he referred to Donald John Trump as “that ding-dong.”
I guffawed. Then told him I really admired his restraint.
He has a loving wife and two small children.
He was quick to tell me that the need and habit of discipling his tongue at home carried easily into the workplace.
“You never can tell when there might be children in the room.”
In Trump’s dog whistle world, I guess there are those members of the MAGA cult with portfolios in Alan’s care.
He is wise to monitor his mouth.
I am so nasty. I hope his MAGA clients are having to change their underwear when they track their nose-diving net worth.
I know it’s too much to hope for an attitude adjustment among the faithful. The three I know are just “adjusting” and soldiering on.
My electrical repair man is a really nice guy. Kenneth is older, very experienced, responsive to my calls for assistance, courteous, competent, happily married, and pretty good looking. He came to the house yesterday to assess and repair a dead wall outlet. He is hard-core MAGA. He “retired” on 31 Dec 24. And now takes only “folding green” payment for services. No receipt offered or provided for services rendered. He is totally unrepentant about hiding income from various taxing authorities. Follow the leader.

That insults astrology and nobody can say on what economic principles and practices Trump is pushing, pushing, pushing all countries into a global trade war.
