Madness Makes Noise
Deceit Stays Quiet
While Trump “floods the zone” with rants. While the Billionaire Boys Club owning legacy and social media platforms rushes to erase the line between fact and fantasy. While Europe dismisses the bad manners and ignorant expansionistic boasts of our incoming president. While China, Russia, North Korea, India, and every other country with nuclear capability smile at the return of America’s Madman to control of our red button. While the Palisades burn and the South freezes and the fabled Northwest Passage becomes a reality. While our justice system tries to decide just how much more latitude to give Donald Trump, private citizen, because of once and future (recently granted) immunity from crimes and misdemeanors while in high public office.
Amid that welter of legitimate concerns and distractions, note with due alarm the lack of public view of the Senate’s exercise of its constitutional gatekeeping responsibility –its duty to advise and consent. Quietly, too quietly, the Senate is moving forward the process of confirming the appointment of nominees lacking character or qualifications to lead the agencies and departments of our government essential to the health, safety, and general welfare of vast swaths of We the People. Nominees who are publicly dedicated to the proposition of returning to the whims of the states the tattered remains of those few federal programs which survive the scythe of the DOGE Boys’ reckless reductionism.
Stay vigilant and informed.
Keep your voice.
Demand a view and a say.
Thwart Project 2025 at every available opportunity. Kill in the cradle what will eat you alive when grown.
Don’t just survive.
Prevail.

"Insanity on top of crazy" is wonderful phrasing. Experiencing awe in the wonders of nature is a super good suggestion.
The mental health overload feels like too much with the latest flood of insanity on top of crazy. Staying alert, practicing health habits to stay strong, and holding to your values of truth, justice, freedom, and decency seem better than paying too much attention to any platform of streaming information. And especially not X (Twitter), Facebook (Meta), and all others pouring gas on the Trump dumpster fire. Time to read a book and turn off the screens. Go outside and let nature nourish you, if it is not too cold or too hot where you are.
