In case you missed it. Because I was not clear.
Paas egg dye tablets are a fair trade. Donald John Trump’s yard sale of the annual White House Egg Roll Ceremony is not.
If you can afford the price of a dozen fresh eggs, good for you. A friendly retailer will sell you a Paas kit ($1.98 to $8.59 includes handling, profit, and overhead mark-ups) of dissolvable tablets that will dye the full carton in 6 different colors. This 2025 price line is a big step up from the original price of $0.05 per tablet that William Townley charged his drug store customers in 1893 in Newark, New Jersey. But, never mind, and moving on.
Like a visit to Home Depot, the carton of eggs and dye kit are just the assembling of the materials needed for an ambitious Do-It-Yourself project requiring tools, time, attention, and patience.
You also will need:
· A pot, water, and heat sufficient to boil the eggs, singly or en masse
· A teacup for each color
· A tablespoon of clear, clean vinegar per cup
· At least 8 ounces of clear, clean water per cup
These items and the time to use them to loving purpose are not readily available in a world torn apart by war and natural disasters.
Donald John Trump is a political disaster. He is misrepresenting the character and intent of our nation in furtherance of his own personal emotional and financial benefit.
Pimping out the Easter Bunny offends my 82-year-old middle class sensibilities. Perhaps even more than his successful disembowelment of leading law firms once lionized as the for-profit guardians of our sacred rule of law. Or making our war plans available to anyone with a Signal account and the stomach to read the offensive attitude and screaming incompetence of administration officials our Senate has approved for service.
Trump’s big earning partners may have deserved to be revealed as parasitic cheats. The Easter Bunny, and Paas dyes, not so much. I do not support attacks on innocence and fair trade.
The Mad King has lost all understanding, or concern for, the yearnings of America for heritage, honor, opportunity, and decent conduct.
I say that is a fatal mistake.
And, hooray for it.

The powerful message here will register with everyone old enough to wait for their monthly Social Security check. They remember Easter eggs and the Paas kit. They remember Easter baskets and chocolate bunnies. If Trump doubles down on stupid and messes with Social Security payments and the Easter bunny at the same time, that's touching the Third Rail, for sure. There's no lie big enough to survive that blowback.
