Oh, Boy
Bombs Away
The next meeting of the 32 members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is scheduled to occur on 24 and 25 June 25 at The Hague in the Netherlands. Donald John Trump is expected to attend, representing the United States of America. His poor conduct during, and abrupt departure from, the 57th annual G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta on 15 and 16 June 25 caused NATO organizers to shorten their meeting to two days and commit beforehand to a 5% mutual defense fund to accommodate and appease the guy backing Putin’s ambition to reconstitute the Russian Empire at Europe’s expense.
Arrangements for, and attendance at, the event got a little bit looser when our Mad King bombed three purported uranium enrichment sites in Iran on 21 June 25.
Proxy Wars
China and Russia back Iran in its arguments with Israel as well as India in its territorial dispute with Pakistan. Captain Bone Spurs cannot deny the risk at which he has placed We the People by applying our force of arms upon a nation that has not directly attacked us.
The Piece Maker
And here is the irony of the moment. On 20 June 25, Pakistan nominated Our Mad King to receive the next Nobel Peace Prize for “averting a broader conflict between … two nuclear states that would have had catastrophic consequences for millions of people in the region and beyond.” The nomination comes just two days after Trump treated Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Field Marshall Asim Munir to lunch at the White House. Shri Narendra Modi of India denied any contact with the administration regarding the cease fire arrangements made directly by the two adversaries. Modi also declined an invitation to visit, much less share a meal at, the White House.
The 45th and 47th president of these barely United States long has lusted for the moment the Norwegian Nobel Committee would recognize his achievements in global diplomacy. He wants the same high honor as was bestowed on Barack Obama for no good reason at all. Donny the Diplomat may not understand the criteria for acclaim. He tends to confuse bullying, intimidation, intermeddling, and treason with statecraft.
His odds of receiving an award at the next ceremony in Oslo diminished substantially when he bombed Iran.
Da Biggie Prize
The most prestigious award in the world is bestowed annually to recognize the most outstanding contributions to peace, in terms of:
1. Arms reduction;
2. International cooperation;
3. Organizations contributing to peace; and/or,
4. Human rights contributions to peace.
Too Weak Trump. Nine countries possess nuclear weapons:
1. The United States;
2. Russia;
3. France;
4. China;
5. The United Kingdom;
6. Pakistan;
7. India;
8. Israel; and,
9. North Korea.
As to arms reduction, committee members cannot fail to notice that Mr. Trump intermeddled in the conflict between Israel and Iran. His initial idea of a laudable arms reduction action worthy of international acclaim was dropping a 15-ton bomb on top of an underground uranium enrichment facility in Fordow, Iran.
A B-2 spirit stealth aircraft can carry two GBU-57 15-ton bunker buster bombs. On 21 June 25, six B-2s left Whiteman Air Force Base en route to a base in Guam. The fact that refueling was necessary to manage load limits reinforced the possibility that the aircraft were carrying heavy ordnance. Whatever the load, on 21 June 25, the B-2s dropped bombs on purported uranium enrichment facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan in Iran.
It is very likely that committee members have good memories and seasoned political eyes. The fact that Mr. Big needed a Big Win after a string of policy humiliations deeply damaging to his personal brand cannot have escaped their notice. Setting the Mideast on fire was an opportunity for distraction and redemption too good for The Piece Maker to ignore.
Donny the Dangerous routinely and rapidly will retreat from a stunt gone wrong or dangerous or just plain stale. In those moments, he usually will announce a Very Important Decision his alone to make will issue “in about two weeks.”
That was the status of his splendid initiative in arms reduction on 21 June 25. The announcement of consideration of alternatives was a ruse. Within 24 hours, the deed was done, without notice to, or consultation with, any international actors other than Israel. Much less, as required by the constitution, agreement of, and authorization by, the Congress of the United States.
The Big Move by the Big Man has the fingers of four of nine countries hovering over their pretty red nuclear bomb buttons.
Putin’s Patsy
The Nobel Peace Prize is intended to recognize diplomatic actions of merit, not infamy.
Members of the committee are elected by the Norwegian Parliament. So, as to international cooperation, the Nobel judges doubtless have some understanding of, and opinion regarding, the avowed intention of American’s Piece Maker to annex Greenland, by force of arms should Denmark (Norway’s next-door neighbor) not agree to terms of transfer offered as fair and reasonable.
If that splendid example of intent to capture foreign lands by contract or conquest does not suffice, committee members can look to the uninvited, unwarranted, and damaging intermeddling of Putin’s Patsy in the 11-year-old Russo-Ukrainian War.
The judges also will have good recollection of, and an opinion regarding, Transactional Trump’s history of demeaning NATO allies and breaking international treaty agreements. Trump’s interaction with partners at the 57th annual G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta on 15 and 16 June 25 was so counterproductive (he continued to press for returning Russia to the table) and abrupt (he left after dinner and delivering dark and rambling policy position remarks) that organizers of the NATO have taken pre-emptive measures to accommodate his short attention span and crabby attitude. The meeting is shortened to two days in duration and the agreement on defense funding commitments is ready for release without further discussion.
Weapons of Mass Destruction
As to the support of Trump 2.0 of organizations contributing to peace, the panel is not likely to applaud abandonment of soft diplomacy programs in underdeveloped nations that reportedly have caused 500,000 avoidable deaths so far. Silencing the Voice of America abroad only mirrors efforts to muzzle domestic reporting.
Situation Report
Our idiot escaped the village.
Here’s hoping for adults around the globe to excuse, overlook, and generally to work around the disastrous consequences of his illegal and dangerous distraction from his lousy birthday party.
Action Plan
Rise up. Resist.
1. Demand your elected representatives resume their Article One duties and exercise their constitutional powers immediately. Require them to:
· Dump the Big Bad Bill and the SAVE Act.
· Enter and approve new articles of impeachment. Remove Mr. Big from public office now and forevermore.
· Regain control of the purse.
· Reverse the force and remedy the effect of each illegal executive order, memorandum, proclamation, and/or social media order issued by the sitting president.
· Scare corrupt Supreme Court justices silly.
2. Continue to exercise the power of your person. Organize and hold new and larger peaceful public protests before and on the Second Day of Independence.
3. Continue to use the power of your purse to damage the brand and bottom line of organizations abandoning DEI commitments.
Prevail against Trump 2.0 and its implementation of the Project 2025 playbook.
Go, team, go.

What a challenge for us all. We want to think about something other than Trump and his enablers. We dare not check out or look away because that is exactly what further fuels this democracy dumpster fire. Thank you for the story that provides context to the meetings and media event scheduled for the next two weeks because that is what Donnie is focused on. Not you. Not me. Not the security of the USA. Not the citizens of other countries, either. How much TV coverage can he dominate between now and the 4th of July--that's his jam. Oh, and keeping everyone dioriented in the spin cycle of the propaganda washer.
What very excellent comments, Georgia. Thank you for them and your support. I appreciate both.
