Today is a fact and a perception. It is the instant hinge of history. It has temporal dimensions and eternal consequences.
Enough Already
The results and consequences of Election 2024 have proven troubling. Thought leaders and opinion makers are divided about the current hinge of history on which humanity and the planet seek to maintain balance. And I am losing interest in the discussion.
Declaration of Personal Independence
Here is an opinion and a commitment wrapped in an allegory.
It does not comfort me to know and admit that Trump’s assault on our laws and customs is not unique. A global trend toward isms other than capitalism is undeniable. Just because a wildfire is active in my vicinity does not force me to abandon my property. I have some valuables and memories there that are important to me.
I am not certain I have the moral courage to die on my hill of commitment to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the myth of myself and America the Beautiful. But I am giving Resistance 2.0 the measured and strategic effort that my purse and person will allow.

It is getting serious, folks.
“Someday” arrived on 14 Apr 25 when Mad King defied such mealy-mouthed constraints as a corrupt Supreme Court placed on his unlawful actions regarding habeas corpus and related constitutional constraints.
I say—let us hope for the best and plan for the worst.
Let us exercise every freedom and liberty, every right still ours to own and deploy.
Be not paralyzed or faithless.
Rise from shock and despair. Cease the wringing of hands, the holding of heads, and/or the clutching of pearls. Action is the antidote. Resistance is required. Be thoughtful. Be strategic.
Encourage and support inquiries by state attorneys general into fraudulent and criminal conduct of Trump 2.0 within their jurisdictions. This is a more promising platform for and mode of institutional opposition than is presently available at the federal level.
Let us pull up our socks and step into the breach now, every Power of One person dissatisfied with the results and consequences of Election 2024.
Let us put into play our persons and our purses to demand:
A return to positions of principle those persons, institutions, and organizations betraying a public trust in their integrity when bending a knee, kissing the ring, funding the personal wealth, or furthering the ambitions of Donald John Trump.
The bringing of criminal charges against Musk and articles of impeachment against Trump.
The bringing of articles of impeachment against corrupt justices now contaminating the opinions of the high court.
Referendum and recall of congressional representatives not faithful to their oath of office and/or unresponsive to the concerns and wishes of their constituents.
Creation of a Shadow Cabinet charged with daily briefings of administrative assaults upon the rule of law, the health, safety, and welfare of We the People, and simple decency.
Course correction on the conduct of matters related to national security.
I truly believe that right is might.
In a world where “only the weak will fail,” let us be strong.
We cannot, we will not, fail.
Agreed!! Discussion is not working. It takes actions, and you have shown us that regardless of whatever age you are, you can accomplish anything if it means enough to you. Your more than 100 well-researched, clearly expressed, daily posts on Substack since STARTING in November 2024 show me that anything is possible if you show up daily and work your tail off. We are amazed and inspired by you.
We all need to stand tall, put our shoulders back, hold our heads up and state with strong sureness to all members of the Republican Administration: "I am not afraid of you, and I don't have to tolerate your behavior any longer." At the very least, everyone is able to then turn and walk away, removing your attention from the alternative reality show in which they live.
