Well, WOW!!!
Preview of Exoneration
On 09 Jan 25 the nation celebrated the life of James Earl Carter. He was a decent man of deep faith and strong character. He served four years as Governor of the State of Georgia and four years as the 39th president of the United States.
On the same date, the Supreme Court accepted Donald J. Trump’s plea to suspend a scheduled sentencing for his criminal conduct as a private citizen before taking high office in 2017. The Court did not have to hear the appeal. But it did. And, in the florid reporting of Andrew C. McCarthy for Fox News, the Court then narrowly decided to allow “New York to brand President-elect Trump as a convicted felon ten days before he enters the White House.” Andrew, as a MAGA loyalist, is pretty emotional about the “imperative that the president not be distracted by the anxiety and stigma (emphasis added) attendant to criminal proceedings while executing his unparalleled constitutional responsibilities.” However, never seriously fear. This blotch which Judge Juan Merchan promises to place on the family escutcheon is open to remedy. Trump will ask for erasure of the sentence and references to his conduct as felonious on appeal. Which pleading ultimately will circle back to the High Court. In its 09 Jan 25 decision, the Court set its table for another bite on the apple.
At that time, Teflon Don likely will escape all consequences and memory of his poor character and irredeemable private and public conduct. And the umbrella of immunity will expand to provide cover to certain private citizens.
Wow.
WHAT a day that may prove to be for betraying the notion that no one is above the law in this country.
