Donald John Trump has managed, for the fleeting moment, to (appear to) be a force of nature.
He enjoys (and benefits from) the incessant interest and resigned capitulation attributed thereunto by those seriously affected by the consequences of his every wandering action and reliably self-serving nature. He reigns on the just and unjust with a fine impartiality.
He’s got his.
1. Look At Me, Look at Me: A life-long chase for attention is accomplished. The prize is his. He sucks every atom of intellect and oversight right out of each space he inhabits and the breathless news cycle reflexively (seeking or alternatively) reimagining an intrinsic rationality to his diseased conduct. The only way to be unaware of where and how and who he is or proposes to be is to lapse into an unconscious state.
2. How Great I Are: He is yuge. He is a star. He can do anything, anytime, anywhere to anyone or anything. He is so smartsie. He is a stable genius. He is a risk addict. He is a frequently bankrupted businessman and convicted felon that a plurality of voters so admired (or tolerated) in both 2016 and 2024 that it awarded him one of the six most decisive nuclear option buttons on offer.
Oh, Come, Best You Adore Me: Abasement is mandatory, competitive, and fashionable. The Mad King owns the loaf. Bring the butter, jelly, and jam. Enough for both sides. And all the edges.
Naner, Naner, Naner: He wins. Global peace and human decency and climate change lose. Oh, and also the myth and reality of America the Bountiful and Beautiful.

But, here’s the thing—he is not more important than the Real Deal. He is a real and present existential threat to our precisous planet and every organism or notion dependent upon it.
1. The Glad Game. In 1913 Eleanor Emily Hodgman Porter introduced a little girl named Pollyanna into American consciousness. Pollyanna could find something about which to be glad in any situation and even under adverse circumstances. Famous examples of her happy disconnect from reality follow:
· Distraction—When you’re hunting for the glad things, you sort of forget the other kind.
· Allegiance to the Absurd and/or Obscene—There is something about everything about which to be glad, if you keep hunting long enough to find it,
But even Pollyanna has moments of clarity and conscience.
· Death Ain’t Pretty--There’s nothing in a funeral about which to be glad.
· Life Begs Consciousness—Just breathing isn’t living.

Fancy people with big words call it “cognitive dissonance.” It is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when a person holds two contradictory beliefs at the same time. It is when their behavior does not align wih their values or beliefs.

This guy is not a force of nature. He is an aberration and a plague. Nature hates a vacuum and he certainly is one. His force is fading and his time is limited. That makes him more erratic and dangerous than ever.
The wheel turns. It is time to become bold.
Increase the volume and instances of resistance.
Hats off to those who are planning, supporting, and attending visible signs of a growing resistance to Trump 2.0. And all honor and glory to the educational institutions, lower court justices, politicians, lawyers, journalists, and media spokespersons defying implementation of the illegal aspects of the Project 2025 playbook.
And praise all gods great and small for the reporters and editors at The Washington Post for trailing the smoke back to the trigger finger on the hot Trump 2.0 gun.
The early strengthening of Resistance 2.0 is a precious and fragile early spring flower. It needs constant care and close attention to survive and thrive. Do not let the 04 May 25 Washington Post reporting disappear.
These are interesting times. Articles of impeachment against Trump and Thomas are active or promised. These accusations need favorable 2026 midterm results to have any hope for life. Chief Justice John Roberts is going public with a pre-emptive defense of the rogue rulings of his corrupt court.
We the People await the next exciting chapter in the Clash of the Titans (between the imperial executive and his corrupt high court). Will the 7-2 margin of sanity and sound jurisprudence hold? Will Thomas and Alito be allowed to continue to participate? Stand by time on these questions likely will be brief.
It is important to remember that Donald John Trump believes “only the weak will fail.”
Let us continue to be faithful, strategic, and strong in our resistance to the fact and effects of his Reign of Terror and Tour of Revenge.

Resumption of support of Ukraine, NATO, WHO, IMF and related international organizations and accords dedicated to the proposition of global peace, health, and prosperity.
The bringing of articles of impeachment against corrupt justices now contaminating the opinions of the high court.
Referendum and recall of congressional representatives not faithful to their oath of office and/or unresponsive to the concerns and wishes of their constituents.
Creation of a Shadow Cabinet charged with daily briefings of administrative assaults upon the rule of law, the health, safety, and welfare of We the People, and simple decency.
Course correction on the conduct of matters related to national security.
Open, timely, and impartial consideration of and rulings on pleadings regarding the constitutionality of executive and administrative actions taken by Trump 2.0 and its implementation of the Project 2025 playbook.
Our statue of liberty has broken chains at her feet.

You are right about Trump sucking the air and energy out of every situation and moment. We don't like the reality that there are hundreds who stand to gain personal wealth further advancing the cruel and senseless behaviors. Trump has his collective group supporting him, and that is our clue.
It’s a collective action problem, because no one person’s actions alone are going to stop Trump and Musk, yet if we all tell ourselves that the risk isn’t worth the gain to democracy, no one will do anything. The people we care about are asking, How can I navigate this dilemma ethically, rationally, and without ruining my life?
I wonder how we can start holding people accountable for their oaths of office? Do We the People take them to court? It isn't going to happen that the U.S. Attorney is going to do that. Whose job is that?
